General information
The Luchtmacht Mannenkoor (Airforce Male Choir) was re-established on September 1st 1980. From this date on, the choir represents - if necessary - the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (Royal Netherlands Airforce) at several formal occasions. With great enthousiasm and devotion she performes this task.
Also the choir performes their own concerts and gives her coorporation if so desired to several concerts and other manifests.
The choir has their practice in one of the rooms of the former Cinema, building 15, on the W.S.Kamp.
Adres: Hobbemalaan, 3712 AZ Huis ter Heide.
The choir has about 50 members according to the regulations:
(Former) male millitary, who are qualified to wear the uniform of the Koninklijke Luchtmacht.
There will be aimed for a balance between the different voices, like 1st tenor, 2nd tenor, baritone and bass.
The Luchtmacht Mannenkoor provides for ten appearences a year. These are various in programming and timeframes, some examples are:
- An eveningfilling program from the Luchtmacht Mannenkoor with musical support, where the choir and the band alternate playing, but also play together.
- By a congress or a special day for an organisation, after a list of speakers, as a musical intermezzo, will be a short performence offered by the Luchtmacht Mannenkoor.
- By a gathering like memorial transfer Kamp Amersfoort on April 19th, the choir will sing suitable songs.
- Volgt.
By the above mentioned oppertunities, it is particular for the invited ones a surprising happening when a male choir from 40-50 men, dressed in uniform, takes care of a spherefull performence. The lenght of the performence can vary from 10 minutes to 2 hours(with a pause of half an hour).
The repertoire from the choir is broad: serious, and populair, it consists out of Dutch, English, French and German pieces, but also Italian, Russian and Ocraine songs and American negro-spirituals and Latin church-songs.
Because the Luchtmacht Mannenkoor has a very broad and varyous repertoire, can we fulfill many wishes. In consultation with you, there will be put together a program, where we will considder your wishes as much as possible.
When we are contracted, we will set up an appointment to check out the location where the performence will be held and to make arrangements concerning stage, formation, times, programming, etc.
Do you have any questions concerning a performence, please contact us through the secretariat:
